Learn more about CBD Triathlete and our TRI ISO range.

Cannabidiol is one of the most critical cannabinoids contained in the cannabis plant. It exists both in agricultural hemp, as well as medical cannabis. While cannabinoids are present within several plants in nature, cannabis is the only plant known to contain CBD. CBD has the same chemical formula as THC, with the atoms in a different arrangement. This slight variance causes THC to create a psychoactive effect, while CBD does not. This fact means that when you ingest CBD for your own purposes, you will more likely experience relief of unwanted discomfort, with little or no noticeable effect on your cognitive abilities.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) does not recommend taking more than 70mg of CBD a day.

WADA is the World Anti-Doping Agency. It is an independent international agency formed in 1999, with membership and funding shared between the global sports movement and world governments. Its main roles include developing anti-doping capacities and monitoring the World Anti-Doping Code (Code). This code is the document that harmonises the anti-doping policies of sport throughout the world.

CBD is not listed on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s Prohibited List. As a result, CBD is permitted to be used in sport. All other cannabinoids are prohibited.

THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is the main psychoactive element of the cannabis plant. It is the agent primarily responsible for the “high” associated with the recreational use of cannabis. THC works partly by imitating the effects of neurotransmitters known as 2-AG and anandamide, which the body naturally produces. They help to control many bodily functions, such as eating and sleeping habits, and the body’s perception of pain.

THC and CBD are the two most dominant cannabinoids found naturally in the plant Cannabis sativa, known most commonly as cannabis. These chemicals interact with cannabinoid receptors found in the human brain and body but their effects are dramatically different. CBD contains no psychoactive properties and will not give the user a “high”. Whereas THC is a psychoactive drug, which will produce a sense of euphoria. With approval from WADA, CBD is now a legal substance but THC is illegal and its use would result in a failed drug test.

We take great care to ensure that we only use pure CBD isolate in our TRI ISO. All our TRI ISO products are tested by both the manufacturer and third-party laboratories for THC. We use PhytoVista Laboratories to test all of our batches produced and have shared their finding on the product pages. You can also find these results by scanning the QR code on the side of the packaging.

Although there are many claims being made, none have been proven scientifically and most are anecdotal. As such we cannot state that CBD will have any specific effect, as it affects each user differently. What we can say is that users of isolated CBD have found that it: - Reduces aches and pains - Helps with stress and anxiety - Reduces inflammation - Improves sleep quality - Helps them to relax - Improves focus

No. TRI ISO's CBD will not show up in a recreational drugs test because all our TRI ISO products are entirely THC-free. The World Anti-Doping Agency has stated that CBD can be used by competitive athletes. It is important to be careful. Some CBD products contain THC. CBD Triathlete's TRI ISO range does not.
